     Battles have been fought from the bloody seas of the 1700’s to the courtrooms of the 21st century over the wealth which lies on the ocean’s bottom off the Carolina coast.  Some say the ghost of Edward Teach, the famed pirate “Blackbeard”, among others, still haunts the creeks and swamps of the Pamlico as unexplainable, seemingly paranormal events occur in communities from Morehead City to Manteo, and from Bath to the Outer Banks.
